COCONUT WAX

The coconuts that we use for our proprietary wax blend come from small farms in Indonesia and the Philippines.
Coconuts are resilient, growing in hot and coastal areas, often near the shoreline because they can tolerate saline and sandy soils— they naturally grow here to protect the shoreline from erosion.
This makes the coconut very unique, as other crops cannot grow in such conditions. Coconuts are harvested in bunches every 45-60 days.
Small farms in Indonesia and the Philippines grow, collect and carve the meat out of the coconut. Once the meat is dried out, the product is now called “Copra.”
The Copra is turned into oil at a local Coconut Oil Mill.
Oil is delivered to California- this is where the oil is turned into wax. The oil undergoes an organic process, converting the oil to wax.
Proprietary ingredients are added to the coconut wax, creating Voluspa’s signature blend that you know and love.
At Voluspa HQ, our coconut wax is then blended with our hand-crafted fragrances, using ingredients sourced from around the globe. We create scents using perfume-quality fragrance & essential oils, focusing on sustainable & organic sourcing.
Each candle is hand poured using 100% natural wicks & custom-designed vessels. Our state of the art, solar-powered manufacturing facility guarantees that all of our candles are ecologically and sustainably sound.

Our headquarters are run using solar-powered energy, and we have increased our in-house recycling tenfold over the past two years. We continue to seek and source alternative eco-friendly packaging made from post consumer recycled materials, vegetable dyes and sugar cane pulp. We also work closely with our suppliers to ensure that we source all ingredients ethically and sustainably, providing a fair deal for growers and greater traceability and transparency for customers.
